the Installation
Coordinating with the homebuilder and excavation contractor, we made sure the shaping of the hillside opened up the right space for the patio. After completing work on the retaining wall, the base of the patio was elevated with gravel to bring it closer to the back door. With the foundation laid, placing each individual paver quickly created a refined patio. Finally, the pergola was added, the fireplace erected, and shrubs and trees added to complete the space.
The Design
Our client for this project knew before breaking ground on their new home that they wanted an outdoor space as amazing as the inside of their home. Working from blueprints for the home, we designed a multi functional patio that would mirror the living and dining arrangement indoors. The patio also includes a pergola for shade, a spot for evening fires, and stairs leading through a retaining wall to access the backyard.
Fireplace
What really makes this patio stand out is the large color-matched fireplace. When summer sun gives way to crisp fall evenings, this outdoor living room continues to be a space to be enjoyed throughout multiple seasons.
Dining Area
The attached pergola defines a spacious dining area with only two posts on the edge of the patio. This efficient use of space allows for ample room for grilling, dining and easy access in and out of the house.
